For the afareet:
Which afareet grew up with each other/have other sort of relationships?
I was thinking Serra and Feng were kind of close as kids, because they're around the same age..

Serra and Feng don't really know each other, unless Serra grew up in China. Feng's parents kept him on Earth until they died, when he moved away and started going all hermit-y. He's been to Katreh a couple of times, so he knows his way around and his missions, but he has a disturbing tendency to run back to his bamboo when the rather stifling environment of the Sandstone Fortress gets to be too much.

Okay. I have been asked to make a small list of basic Arabic phrases for the benefit of this board. Here goes (I will add to this when I get a chance):
Salaam--ritual respectful greeting, rough literal translation means 'peace'. Sabaah el hiir--good moring, good day. Literaly 'morning the good'. Sabaah el nur--response to the above. Literaly 'morning the bright'.
if you are adressing someone, you say:
*ye Madeame--Mrs. *ye Anyssa--Ms. or Miss *ya Oostez--sir
if reffering to them not in their presence you cut the ye or ya.
Random vaguely useful words, yes, I did look some of them up:
bathbatha--to scatter tabba--to be destroyed, to die batta--to settle or achieve bint--girl nabata--to grow tibn--grass or straw bayna--between yanbut--it grows nabiiy--prophet bayt--house tabanna---to adopt bana--to build 'anta--masculine 'you' 'anaa--I 'ab--father 'anti--feminine 'you' banaat-girls 'ayna--where baab-door 'aw--or wa--and 'aawa--to shelter band--law baduu--nomads, lit. Bedouin dunyaa--world diin-religion 'adab--literature, books nabadha--to banish bard--cold darraba--to train zawwada--to supply bashar--human shariba--to drink dars--lesson shabaab--boy 'ustaadh--teacher naw--kind, type, species rabii--spring, fountain na'am--yes min--from nawm--sleep (noun, like 'get some sleep') thumma-then lammaa--when rasuul--messenger al-yawm--the day yawm--day shams--sun kalaam--speech 'injiliiz--English people thalij--ice, snow khubz--bread nahr--river hiya--she huwa--he musaa'adah--help 'ardh--earth t'hibb--medicine sadiiq--friend fam--mouth qalb--heart
possibly more later!

I don't think so, actually. It doesn't seem like it would work too well if we used entire phrases, but this will be an interesting resource.
Maybe, we can use a word or two at a time, like of like Spanglish, but Arabilish or something. EG: I crossed the nahr last night, blah blah blah
Or maybe not. It could get a bit confusing.

Considering that it took me five minutes to confirm that nahr was indeed river, as I suspected from context, I'd say it was a bit confusing. We could use it for sorcerers' spoken spells or dramatic effect or something, though.

Yeah, after looking over it one more time, that does seem like the best idea. It's a really neat idea and I love Arabic, buuut, I don't think it'll work.

I know. Just Ruby is sort of based off the Beduin, so I might use a few Arabic words now and then. BTW, Ruby is not her real name, just what her mother calls her. Her real name is Ankaala, which means, roughly,'Phoenix'. Hehe.

Leah and Ehmer might know each other. Just a little. Because, I mean she spends a lot of time skulking around where she isn't supposed to be, namely, near where Ehmer lives, so they might know each other by sight.
YAYYYYYY! Thank you for making a character! I can now sucessfully ship Ruby/Ehmer! If he ever gets to Katreh!

Oh, yeah. They could have seen each other before, I think, but not much more than that. Ehmer's too low class for Leah.

Mmmhhhmm, if he tried to talk to her, she'd probably go all snooty on him.
