Yeah, that would work. Feng hates sleeping indoors too. It's the whole claustrophobia thing again...

Katreh is made up of nomadic tribes, like Ruby said. They may set up camp for a few weeks in some places, but staying there for long is too dangerous.

Sometime soon, we need to get a geography for Katreh set out. If we do, I can draw up a map on nice paper, scan it into my computer, (I have a scanner now!) and email it to someone who knows how to put it up on the board, but I need a general idea of what stuff looks like first.
To that end, where are all the Katreh natives from, and what are those places like? Feng was born in Shandongan, which literally translates as 'mountain east peace' in Chinese. It's a pretty accurate description, as the area is located far to the east of the Fortress and by the mountains. Feng's region of origin is located at the very foot of the mountains, so it isn't as arid as most of the land on the other side, and there are actual trees.

Talomi's from a small city called Ledjin, which is built in the shadow of some mountain range or other. Most of the year it's incredibly dry, but it's cooler than a lot of places because they spend most of the day out of direct sunlight. Every now and then they get a fantastic thunderstorm, or a bit of rain, because of the whole 'cold, damp air from off the mountains meets hot, dry air from up off the desert' thing. So they've got a bit of arable land, enough that is was worth settling the place for. They also periodically get visitors headed across the mountains in one directiion or another.

A bit about mountains and deserts (of interest to most people here): For some reason that I forget, air, rain, and moisture collect over mountains as the wind blows. As a result, dry air is sent to blow over the area on the other side of the mountains.
Katreh, as a relatively dry place even without the mountain effect, doesn't exactly have a ton of rainforests or anything. Feng's region of Shandongan is about as wet as it gets, because it's on the side of the mountains wind usually blows off of.
